MOS

A monolitic integral field unit covering a contiguous area of 9 arcmin2 with intermediate spectral resolution (R~3500) in the 370-970 nm wavelength range.

The MOS capability will include:

• low-resolution (R~4000) fiber feed spectrographs covering the 370-970 nm wavelength range
• high-resolution (R~40,000) fiber feed spectrographs covering three spectral windows in the 370-970 nm wavelength range
• a positioner able to allocate 20,000 fibers in the focal plane
